The Masters Tournament
April 8-14, 2002

Shooting 71 for a 276 total, Tiger Woods won this year's Masters in April, getting his third Green Jacket at Augusta National Golf Club.

After Woods birdied two of the first three holes, the excitement was over, and by Friday afternoon everyone was playing to see who would finish second and so on down the ladder. The weather made things a bit difficult as well. It rained heavily on both Friday and Saturday. The mud was knee high and very smelly. Seems as though the course workers mistakenly dumped soil mixed with lawn chemicals instead of just sand/sod. The more this gooey combo heated up on Sunday, the stinkier the course got. I'm sure a lot of shoes were thrown out that day!

Anyhow, just because Tiger aced the Masters doesn't means he's got the Majors under his belt just yet. In June he'll be facing last year's U. S. Open champion Retief Goosen on the same course Goosen beat him on a year ago.
