Not only did the competitors undertake what's billed as the "World's Toughest Expedition Race," but Blue Pixel and its team of photographers also proved that Eco-Challenge is "The World's Toughest Digital Field Test" as well.

Blue Pixel Digital Experts is led by veteran Eco-Challenge photographer and Blue Pixel Managing Partner Kevin T. Gilbert. Other members of the Eco-Challenge photo team are: Blue Pixel Partners Reed Hoffman and Rob Galbraith as well as photojournalists Porter Binks, Jeff Lawrence, Corey Rich and Tim Wimborne. Together they bring more than 50 years' of world-class digital photography experience and testing to the event. This is the team's 5th coverage of Eco-Challenge.

Blue Pixel's digital images will be featured in the advertising and marketing campaigns for USA Network, SONY/AXN and the Discovery Channel Canada, who will broadcast the race's six-hour special in 2002.

TEAM BIOS
Kevin T. Gilbert
Former President of the White House News Photographers and former Chief Photographer of the Washington Times, Gilbert spent the last 4 years shooting for the Discovery Channel, National Geographic Television, USA Network, Animal Planet and other international clients. This is Kevin's 6th Eco-Challenge.

Reed Hoffmann
After 20 years working for newspapers, he's now an editorial photographer and digital consultant based in Kansas City. Reed is shooting his 5th Eco-Challenge.

Rob Galbraith
Consultant, web site editor and editorial photographer based in Calgary, Canada. He is the author of The Digital Photojournalist's Guide, 4th Edition. This is Rob's first Eco-Challenge.

Porter Binks
Associate Picture Editor at Sports Illustrated and former Sports Picture Editor and photographer for 15 years at USA TODAY. This is Porter's 6th Eco-Challenge.

Corey Rich
Adventure photographer based in Northern California. Corey's photos have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Men's Journal, and National Geographic Adventure magazine. This is Corey's 2nd Eco-Challenge.

Tim Wimborne
Editorial photographer based in Sydney, Australia, Tim works frequently in for Reuters, Discovery Channel, and Inside Sport, and is currently working on a large scale humanitarian aid digital documentation for an international development agency. This is Tim's 2nd Eco-Challenge.

Jeff Lawrence
Current Information Systems Director of Knight Ridder Tribune, and former photographer, picture editor, and web designer. Jeff is shooting and editing his 3rd Eco-Challenge.
